About Us

“Hello I’m Gez the co-founder and director of MaG Tuition.  I have a passion for teaching and for helping others to learn and develop their academic talents and increase their confidence in both education and life.  We aim to help our students reach their desired results and exceed their expectations and give them all a solid foundation in education for their future.

 

My qualifications include A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and AS-level Electronics.  Following these A-levels, I studied for a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics, and then continued at university to specialise to MSc and PhD levels.  I can therefore offer tuition in maths and physics to the highest levels and concentrate on learning though understanding the detail underpinning concepts and associated mathematical models and techniques.

 

More recently, I have completed a part-time Masters of Business Administration (MBA) which allowed me to learn a wider skill set and so allowing me to support studies in other disciplines such as Business Studies.”

“My name is Jo and I have been a Primary Teacher since 2005.

 

When I had my daughter in 2015, I gave up full time teaching in order to work more flexibly around looking after my little one.  I have since enjoyed supply teaching and tutoring, and continue to enjoy the aspects of class teaching which I was most passionate about, namely helping children to develop academically while ensuring they feel proud of their achievements and grow in self-esteem.

 

My qualifications include A-levels in English Language, Psychology and Film Studies, and a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Education Studies and Early Childhood.  I earned my PGCE in primary teaching in 2005.  The majority of my teaching experience has been in Key Stage One (Infants) but I have taught up to Year 6 (ages 10 and 11).

 

Outside of work, I am dedicated to spending time with family and friends.  With many Dutch relatives, I keenly practise the language, and my daughter is learning it fast.  I love the outdoors, reading and scrapbooking.  I would love to be more green fingered and am learning from my partner.  Together we are developing our back garden, with lots of well meaning help from our little person.”
